The key to the unit is its ease of use, which is as simple as hanging your bike on a standard wall-mounted hook. The Bike Vault mounts with a 3/8-inch lag bolt and provides a secure place to store one bike. Once installed it operates via an infrared key fob remote control; there is no lock to pick. In addition to providing a mechanical deterrent to theft, Bike Vault also features an audible alarm. The company is also looking into offering a model that can be tied to an existing home security system.
